Friday Five: Five Places I Want to See Before I Die

I know there's a book about this. And I'm not insisting any of you should visit these places. But for some reason, these are locales that call to me:

1. Paris, France. The art, the architecture, the food. Yeah, I've heard the rumors about "rude" citizens, but I'm a New Yorker. We have the same rep and it's not true. So I'm going. Someday...

2. Puget Sound, Washington. Weird? Maybe. But a long time ago, I saw a photo of a house overlooking the Puget Sound and it resonated with me so deeply, I still picture that house in my head--thirty years later. I take that as a sign I'm either supposed to live there or I already did.

3. Taj Mahal. I don't have to explain that, do I?

4. The Greek Isles. Mythology, history, and gorgeous vistas. Who could ask for anything more?

5. Nova Scotia, Canada. I've planned this trip at least twice but the dh always backs out on me. Someday, with or without him, I'm going!

Where do you want to go?

Friday Five: Five Things I'm Looking Forward To In 2011

Yep, it's that time again. Time for the Friday Five. This week:

Five Things I'm Looking Forward To In 2011

1. The release of Nobody's Darling, the first book in my new series from Avalon Books, available in April!

2. New England's Imagination in Flight Conference, also in April, will be in Salem, MA so it's a girl's trip. Just me and my daughter for this one. Body language workshop first, then witch tours!

3. RWA National Conference in New York. Bright Lights, Big Stories hits the NY Marriott Marquis on June 28 (early this year) and I can't wait to be a part of it all!

4. The new season of Dexter on Showtime (and the ability to get last year's season on DVD). I'm a true Dexterphile and gotta be able to relieve every delicious moment of last year's adventures while anticipating the chills to come this year.

5. 2012. Hey! It's never too late to think ahead.

What are you looking forward to?

Tonight's Library Talk Cancelled Due to Weather

Just a heads-up. If you had planned to come to the East Islip Public Library tonight for their Book Club Bash and meet and greet with Dunes & Dreams Romance Writers, stay home and stay safe instead. Due to the extreme weather, the program was cancelled. This event *will* be rescheduled so as soon as I have details, I'll post them. Stay tuned.
